Farhan Akhtar has finally shed light on why Ranveer Singh is stepping into Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic shoes forthe third instalment of the Don franchise. In a recent chat with Faye D’Souza, Farhan explained that while Shah Rukh was initially considered for Don 3, the story’s evolution led to a different direction.
Farhan shared, “When I first started thinking about Don 3, I obviously thought of writing something with Shah Rukh in it. However, we couldn’t find the right place to take the story, and we couldn’t find common ground. So, I decided to rethink the film and delve deeper into what made Don, Don. That’s when Ranveer Singh felt like the perfect fit for the role.”
In other buzz, there are rumours that Sobhita Dhulipala might join the cast for a dance number in Don 3. The actress, recently engaged to Naga Chaitanya, is reportedly in talks with Farhan Akhtar and could bring a fresh charm to the blockbuster franchise. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is gearing up for his role while Shah Rukh Khan preps for Sujoy Ghosh’s King.
