Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas hasthe-bbc/?utm_campaign=TrueAnthem-GMS&utm_medium=Social-Distribution&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1Of9k9ucUcjvjt7BSePlKDofTcyq5MgIpD6jHvQUk_Q03jJORzqZkyUq4_aem_kM9blMVxr–dtOo1luUuNw&sfnsn=scwspwa”> respondedto his sacking by the British Broadcasting Corporation for ‘inappropriate behaviour.
Jenas has been working in the broadcasting industry since his retirement, making his debut with ITV Sport during their coverage of the 2014/2015 UEFA Europa League.
The former England international has been a part of the famous football show Match of the Day and has been tipped to replace Gary Lineker as the host of the show.
To the surprise of many, he was removed from agency MC Saatchi’s website and it has also been announced that he would no longer be the anchor of the famous program ‘The One Show’.
According to a report, BBC decided to relieve Jenas of his duties due to a complaint that was made against him and following an internal investigation, the broadcasting company decided to let him leave.
The complaint has now revealed to be unsolicited texts to a female staff member and the 41-year-old has now directed his lawyers to clear his name.
Speaking to talkSPORT via Sky News on Thursday, Jenas didn’t give much away about the incident
“I can’t really talk about it. As you can probably see, I’m not happy about it. But currently, as it stands I’m going to have to let the lawyers deal with it.
“There’s two sides… that’s all I can say now.
He added: “I’m not happy about this situation. I’m going to be speaking to my lawyers about it, is all I can say right now”
It remains to be seen whether he will be restated if proven innocent by his lawyer.
