In Hull, in the aftermath of summer riots that saw an asylum hotel attacked, shops looted, and cars burned, two strong feelings remain.
Resentment over a perceived strain placed on local services by asylum seekers and anger from the feeling that politicians are ignoring their concerns.
On this episode, Niall Paterson is joined by producer Sarah O’Connell, who recently visited Hull to meet residents who witnessed the violence in the city on 3 August.
They discuss how locals feel that they aren’t listened to, and the deprivation that some in the city experience every day.

Al Jazeera's Investigative Unit goes on the trail of The Minister’s Millions to find out how he built a half-billion-dollar property empire – on a thirteen-thousand-dollar salary. Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, a close ally of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, bought hundreds of luxury properties in London, Dubai, and New York, but declared none of them to tax authorities in Bangladesh. The former land minister gives a guided tour of his $14m London home; he owns 360 in the UK alone. Now authorities in Bangladesh have frozen his bank accounts and are investigating claims

Trying to stamp on the person rioting is not going fix the problem. I have never seen a government so out of touch with the public. I have spoken to such a wide variety of people about their concerns and from white working class to two home owner university lecturers, asian accountants with a couple of properties, self employed earning 150k, all say that they are sick of immigration both legal and illegal. They see the culture of this country being lost because there have been 10 million people allowed to come here and we are changing to suit them rather than them changingto fit into a country.

It took this podcast just under 3 mins to ignore the English via calling them ''brits'' whilst doing a podcast about working class folk in England

🤔 I wonder why? Given the fact it was all related to mass immigration, and mass immigration continues all day every day despite no one ever voting for it, and everyone voting against it at every given opportunity
