@Alx-h9g
This shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what Xg is. Xg is based on historical performance, so if players were to start scoring more shots from outside the box then the Xg will increase from 0.1. But you can't deny that it isn't a very good reflection of what will happen if you shoot from outside the box. I.e. you'll score 1 in 10.
@oisinquinn9469
Its a useful statistic not THE statistic.
@hooky17
Tbf I’ve been to Opta’s offices and asked some of them what actually constitutes xG and how it’s calculated and they weren’t sure 😅
@therobbieunited
Its quality if chances created ,shots from long range dont get tracked by the model
@JamesAmoore
Jamie Redknapp is proving to the world that he is the world's biggest imbecile. At least understand something before being vehemently against it.
@GeminiGaming887
Redknapp is always moaning like a little girl.
@tikitaka3565
moronic
@chunderjack
Forget xG, the xN (expected nonsense) is off the charts when Jamie is on
@manriquebrian
xG in the bin 🚮
@sleep99PS3
This is why you're sat in the studio and not on the touchline, thick as a plank!
@petegonad
It’s not complete nonsense, but there is way too much emphasis placed on it. Most of the things data tells you can be seen by watching the game.
@MrOMGWTFROFL1
That's why every club in the premier league/top 5 divisions use it to create chances. Redknapp just showing how out of touch he is
@miketrace8504
xG is used to show trends and what to EXPECT, hence the name. You can and should use it to show outliers, those who are under and over performing to pick out players / tactics etc exactly like Jamie is pointing out… he needs to watch Money Ball.
@HabitualLine-Stepper
xG is made up. Simple. Means nothing.
@bravehartley
Jamie is too thick to understand what xG is.
@chrisholloway236
Whats with all the hot girl bots saying how good the content is 😅😅😅😅
@SongofIceandTea
why is he so triggered with xG ? it's literally based on data and statistic to help your team improved, when you've got way less goal than your xG, that means your team failed to execute chances after chances, so next time you hit the training ground you know what your team should be training for, simple as that, LOL
@awesimo4684
It's just supposed to be an improvement on shots, which also takes into account where the shot was taken from. 20 shots from 40 yards is worse than 3 shots from 6 yards. But the stats for such a game stats would show 20 shots for team A and 3 shots for team B, and some people would conclude that team A was really unlucky and dominated the game.
@mungohalf-brain2743
If statistics are so useless I suggest Redknapp phones the recruitment departments at Brentford and Brighton to let them know that they are wasting their time.
@AI_support
Why is Jamie redknapp such a buffoon
@nickycadogan
Can Jamie even spell xG?
@mura6093
Same backwards take from people who dont understand the stat. It is not an end all and be all, it is only a metric that quantifies the quality of a chance pre shot and should exist with the nuance and context that it is in.
@jordanmckay7037
xG doesn’t say much in one game but it very clearly shows trends over a number of games. Teams aren’t scoring belters on a weekly basis.
@arghonandi6818
What a stupid take
@mufclad2
He’s talking about the 2 shots that did go in rather than the 15 that’s wouldn’t
@dudleyhardial2273
I have never understood the point of XG. It may show opportunities, but really does not mean anything unless the ball ends up in the back of the net. Football managers and coaches should disregard it and use their game observation to decide how their team plays.
@Crouchy232323
XG is utter woke nonsense
@pratulya12
It’s a statistical metric. This guy is so dumb smh.
@friendlybane
Jamie Redknapp is a diversity hire. They need to keep at least 1 Redknapp active in English football. He is not that bright, unfortunately. The low xG indicates how difficult those shots were, and how well Scharr and Barnes did to score them. 9/10 shots from that position end up in the stand.
@rj41975
Exactly why xG stat belongs in the briefing rooms and not a pundit talking point. If fans love data, maybe enjoyable, but actual goals will always top xG which is also subjective. Attempts on and off target is a more useful stat for fans
@JeamyAntreva
Looking forward for your next upload!
@AnnemaGomez
This content is so good! I can't stop watching!
@shkafity6418
Xg should take into context who is taking the shot, for example Cr7 or haaland going through 1v1 is basically expected for a goal as much as antony or brennan johnson in a 1v1 😂
@samuste_
It's just a metric to show the quality of chances created. Not that deep, as with all statistics it should be taken with nuance and given context.
@thierryhenry674
Typical English outdated mindset.
How many attempts were taken before one was successful?😂
There is a reason Spain, Barcelona, Bayern and Man City, teams that love to walk the ball into the goal have dominated the world.
While England was struggling in international games, keep trying their long shots from 30 yards out.
