“A tech company stole our voices, made AI clones of them, and sold them possibly hundreds of thousands of times,” Linnea Sage said.

The firm has not yet responded to their claims or the BBC‘s requests for comment.

Lovo co-founder Tom Lee has previously said its voice-cloning software only needs a user to read about 50 sentences to create a faithful clone.

  1. All the thieves we are fighting today! from left, right, above and below. This is not a revolution how they want you to think… it's just late stage capitalism.

  2. Hope they are successful in their legal action it is long overdue

  3. Its completely different, you will not be able to prove it. It feels like two different.

  4. Using your voice is a problem, but Companies are free to use voices from historical figures… so Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, Harry Truman are viable. And that will grow as people fall into the public domain 75 years after they die.

  5. I am sueing Apple for making "Personal" voice.

  6. Blatant theft. Terrifying

  7. I have not seen AI do anything that could not have been done before AI.
Ai maybe brain dead. The old put a name on it and make a bunch of money. 😎

  8. It’s trivial for the companies to remove those voices and retrain with voices of people they pay. Getting a couple hours of an average generic voice like theirs is cheap. The market for highly paid voiceovers is mostly gone, unless they are distinctly recognizable celebrity voices; even those can be trained on by hiring people with voices very similar to those celebrities like OpenAI did with a Scarlett Johannesson sound-alike voiceover artist.

  9. Neither sounded like them.

  10. Good. Their voices were mostly for annoying ads anyway. Glad they'll have to get a real job now.

  11. I believe Lovo stole Grover Gardner's voice too… I heard it on this video. He has narrated many of Lois McMaster Bujold's audiobooks. Wish I knew how to tell him.

  12. Google Translate has stolen work of human translators. Why are the translators not remunerated for their content? They should be paid royalties each and every year by tech companies.

  13. These two are not serious. Their voice sounds common and boring.

  14. Will be difficult to prove. Good luck. I doubt its winnable. If they will win it will set precedent for future cases.

  15. Your talk acting skills??? will be destroyed by A.i, It’s the future, today.

Mushroom is for UK politics at all. Then, Japan can make it. By the way, Swiss Brown is for the black. Shiitake is for Japan black only. Curious is Swiss Brown is nowhere as Japan made. It is matter with my life. Beside, Mushroom itself til Swiss Brown can reach to me. It seem mythical addictive drug to death like magic mushroom in Japan. Then, wrong support for other made my status like shiitake only.

'Agaricus bisporus, commonly known as the cultivated mushroom, is a basidiomycete mushroom native to grasslands in Eurasia and North America. It is cultivated in more than 70 countries and is one of the most commonly and widely consumed mushrooms in the world. It has two color states while immature – white and brown – both of which have various names, with additional names for the mature state, such as chestnut, portobello, portabellini, button and champignon de Paris. 20. Unfair, yes. But are you surprised that your career of sounding like a robot is being replaced by a robot?
AI will take a lot of our jobs eventually (including mind probably), but this one clearly sits at the top

  21. its unfortunate that this lady believes that by being a voice actor, that is somehow considered a creative endeavour, it should have been entirely obvious to anyone that voice actors would be the first to be replaced by AI. people with far more skills invested into their careers are going to be overtaken by AI, lawyers, surgeons and even scientists, I really say this with a heavy heart, but a voice actor has not invested much to moan about.
