High school football player surprises teammates with special gift

An Arizona high school football player diagnosed with brain cancer used his “Make-A-Wish” to buy new, state-of-the-art helmets for the teammates who supported him through his illness. His scans are now clear and he’s back playing ball. NBC News’ Hallie Jackson has the heartwarming story.

  4. Steven, don’t lose hope. I am much older than you, but I share with you the awful disease of malignant brain cancer. My doctors told me that after treatment, if I got all the breaks, I might live another three to five years. I am ecstatic to report that next February, I will have reached TWENTY YEARS. Advancing age reduces life expectancy, so a young guy like you stands to live long and happily. Good luck to you and never stop believing. 😊
