Liverpool star seeks to emulate Mbappé by buying French club

Just like Kylian Mbappé, Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold is seeking to purchase a French club.

According to L’Equipe, the right-back wants to acquire the ownership of Ligue 1 side FC Nantes through an investment fund managed by his father.

The report revealed that Waldemar Kita, Nantes’ present owner, had a meeting with the England international in July before they had a physical meeting in Geneva, Switzerland some days ago.

Another discussion was said to have taken place yesterday, and it appears that progress is being made. An oral offer of €100 million (€80 million cash + €20 million in credit) + bonuses of up to €40 million has been made.

Kita has owned Nantes since 2007, but things haven’t been going smoothly at the club recently—they merely escaped relegation last season, the same as the season before.

The Yellow Canaries have won just one trophy under the Polish man, and his stay at the club might be on the verge of coming to an end, and Alexander-Arnold might be his successor.

Recently, Mbappé acquired the majority shares in Ligue 2 club Stade Malherbe Caen for a reported €15m fee and he may have just motivated Alexander-Arnold to follow suit.

The Guinness Book of Record holder has his contractual issue with Liverpool yet to be settled as he heads into the final months of his current deal. 

He is seen as the emblem of the Premier League side, having been born in Merseyside and is a candidate for the Liverpool captaincy in the future.
