TikTok argued in court on Monday that a US law – which would see it banned unless it is sold by ByteDance – would have a “staggering” impact on the free speech of its US users.

The law was prompted by concerns that US users’ data is vulnerable to exploitation by China’s government.

TikTok and ByteDance have repeatedly denied links to the Chinese authorities.

The companies sued to block the legislation in early May, calling it unconstitutional and an effective ban on the speech of its 170 million US users.

  1. Banning TikTok is no different from the FDA removing a dangerous product from the marketplace.

  2. Tiktok needs banning worldwide, trash platform from what ive seen, ive never ever been on there but it needs BANNING NOW!!!!!…..

  3. They mean a staggering impact on their profits

  4. They didn’t know that banning X could “harm free speech”

  5. Then X should get banned too. You do know every battery in a Tesla is made in China and Musk has loans with Chinese banks. Musk has factories in China people. Musk has also been invited by the Chinese government more than once and used to buy Russian steel before the invasion.

Biggest propaganda channel is RT. It's on X, not on TikTok. ISIS is on X, not on TikTok, Taliban is on X, not on TikTok.

I think you get my point here.

  6. TikTok is Chinese propaganda

  7. Free Chinese speech maybe. X is the real free speech

  8. F’ AIPAC

  9. Tiktok is the hands of the CCP – the planet's biggest censorship. Its algorithm dumbs/manipulates minds of Western youth (40% get their news from it) so – for example – they'll be incentivised to protest Palestine whilst never the millions in Xinjiang upon CCP's global ascent. Authoritarian regimes coordinate to undermine global democracy – starting with Ukraine; Israel and Taiwan. So this is one of their tools to control the narratives and future generations in Western society (as well as CCP-funded universities in UK which are leading to restrictions on free speech in academia). Simply put: Globalist corporations hitched us to Made In China; creating a society that hides behind a 'woke' facade whilst funding a regime with slaves and genuine oppression of minorities to global domination. And the truth is not fashionable.

  10. Ashley??! That sounds very familiar on TikTok..🤔🤔

  11. The exponential growth of ignorance in the comments is eye-rollingly, embarrassingly pitiful. If Tiktok is a security concern because "China", what does literally every piece of computer hardware used to post these comments being manufactured either by China or Taiwan, mean to these commenters. Goodness, some people are bag of rocks dumbass!

  12. free speech? does china have this strange thing?

  13. People can just move to another platform

  14. TikTok, never used it, never will. Theres the answer.

  15. There's no free speach on the tiktok platform anyways.
So not sure what tiktok is bablin on about free speech when they sensor virtually everything.
You can't even upload meme or a football game.
    The list goes on

  16. Clearly, TikTok doesn’t understand the First Amendment and protections it provides. This is a matter of national security and has nothing to do with free speech.

  17. Like Chinese teach us how to play soccer.😆

  18. It is not about free speech it is about making money from exploiting TikTok users.
