Tout au long de notre vie, nous connaîtrons à la fois la souffrance et la joie, des périodes de grand chagrin et des périodes de bonheur débordant. Parfois, il s'agit de saisons distinctes, mais il arrive aussi que ces expériences se mélangent.
Dans les deux cas, l'apôtre Jacques attendait des chrétiens qu'ils s'adressent à Dieu. Si quelqu'un souffrait, Jacques appelait à agir par la prière. Si quelqu'un était joyeux, qu'il loue Dieu!
Cela peut sembler évident, mais lorsque la douleur nous empêche d'avoir les idées claires, nous avons parfois tendance à oublier de prier. De même, quand tout va bien et que nous sommes joyeux, il nous est facile d'en profiter sans prendre le temps de remercier Dieu. En réalité, chaque période de la vie, est une opportunité d'appliquer les enseignements de l’apôtre…
Ainsi, lorsque nous souffrons, prions. Lorsque notre entourage souffre, prions. Lorsque nous sommes joyeux, louons le Seigneur. Lorsque les autres sont joyeux, louons le Seigneur avec eux. En toutes circonstances et en toutes situations, tournons-nous vers Dieu avec tout ce que nous sommes, et donnons-lui toute notre confiance.
En faisant cela, nous nous rapprochons de Jésus, et il nous aide à surmonter toutes nos épreuves.
À quoi donc es-tu confronté en cet instant même? Prends un moment pour prier et pour te confier à Dieu. Réfléchis ensuite aux aspects encourageants de ta vie, et dis simplement: "Merci Seigneur!"
