Interviewed prior to kick-off, Empoli vice president Rebecca Corsi admitted her side will need a lot of courage this evening in their league showdown against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.
The two sides will be eager for victory after both were held to goalless draws to begin their 2024/25 campaigns last week in round one of Serie A.
“For starters, we’ll need courage above all else tonight,” she told DAZN. “Most of our players are young, so this isn’t an attribute they lack.”
“Sometimes older players lack the boldness possessed by some youngsters—hopefully we use this to our benefit. Our club’s philosophy relies on youth, and this won’t be changing.”
Adding, “We provide young players a great environment to help them grow—a place where it’s okay to make mistakes and there’s calm.”
